JACK CASSIDY (The Clown) is a native of New York City where he attended St. Benedict Joseph Elementary School and Richmond Hill High School. He left Richmond Hill a year before receiving his diploma, and made his Broadway debut before he ever approached his classic features with a razor blade in Mike Todd's Something for the Boys. His theatrical schooling was constant as he proceeded from musicals to dramatic plays to musicals in rapid sequence, achieving early in his career the lead in Joshua Logan's Wish You Were Here. His numerous Broadway appearances include Inside U.S.A., South Pacific, Small Wonder, She Loves Me, Fade Out Fade In, and Superman. His dramatic portrayal in the Phoenix Theatre production of Sandhog was mentioned as one of the outstanding performances of the season. He toured Europe for the State Department in the ANTA production of Oklahoma!, playing the role of Curley, which marked his first but not his last meeting with a young lady who played the role of Laurie, Shirley Jones. Mr. Cassidy's record albums include "On Your Toes," "Babes In Arms," "The Boys From Syracuse" and, of course, "She Loves Me," "Fade Out Fade In," and "Superman," as well as memorable albums with Miss Jones; "Brigadoon," "Marriage Type Love," "Speaking Of Love," and "Love From Hollywood." He recently made a highly praised supper club debut at the St. Regis Hotel in New York in an act which he conceived and wrote. He is well known to television audiences via starring appearances in The Lucille Ball Show, I Spy, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and the Ed Sullivan Show. His Irish wit has flared on Hollywood Squares, Password, Joey Bishop, Dick Cavett and Johnny Carson's Tonight show. Last season he was nominated for an Emmy for his co-starring role opposite Paula Prentiss and Dick Benjamin in the CBS TV series He And She. Mr. Cassidy has also been honored with three Tony nominations, and he was awarded the Tony for his performance in She Loves Me.
